A positive mindset is the first (and maybe most important) step toward realizing dreams and reaching goals. When upsetting situations are viewed through a filter of thoughtfulness without agendas and egos, the mind is then able to consider other possible meanings and intentions for what has occurred, thus liberating it from distress. Likewise, when an individual is caught in a web of negative thought that includes self-recrimination, contemplating a more compassionate message can alter perceptions of self in a way that may free him or her from doubt, insecurity and indecisiveness.
